RN / Registered Nurse - Observation Unit - Full Time - Nights

Scope of Service : The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual / cultural, and nursing sciences.

The Registered Nurse functions within the full scope of nursing practice as noted by the Board of Nursing of their designated state for which they are practicing in addition to compliance with any of the hospitals accrediting bodies.

$20,000 Sign-On Bonus Eligible Candidates must be external and have at least 6 months of Registered Nurse experience to be eligible for the Sign-on Bonus.

Unit Overview : 32 Bed UnitAutonomous, nurse driven, fast-paced environmentAverage patient length of stay is under 24 hoursPatient Population : A wide variety of medical surgical and intermediate level observation status patients managed by hospitalists, surgeons and ER providers.

Patient diagnoses encompass cardiology (chest pain, atrial fibrillation, CHF, etc), neurology (TIA, syncope, seizure, headache, vertigo), urology (kidney stone, flank pain), post-op (laminectomy, fusion, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, thyroidectomy, hysterectomy, orthopedic surgeries, etc), anemia, generalized abdominal pain, COPD, etc.

Position RequirementsGraduate of an accredited nursing school. BSN preferred Current State license as a Registered Nurse1 year of experience as an RN Current CPR / BLS CertificationSpecialty certifications as required for the department RNs for this unit will be required to obtain ACLS and NIHSS Certification (not required prior to hire)Ability to excel in a fast-pace environmentAbility to work autonomously ProMedica is a mission-based, not-for-profit integrated healthcare organization headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.
