The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for overseeing the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries within the organization. In this position you will provide hands-on care to athletes while also managing the athletic training staff, coordinating with coaches and physicians, and ensuring compliance with safety and health standards. The selected candidate for this role will receive a sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor staff athletic trainers.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of injuries, develop / implement appropriate treatment protocols, and refer athletes to physicians when necessary.
- Support athletes in achieving improved functional independence while minimizing limitations and reducing the risk of re-injury.
- Provide on-site emergency care as necessary, within the scope of athletic training practices.
- Educate athletes and coaches on best practices for conditioning, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.
- Communicate with athletes, coaches, and physicians regarding treatment plans to ensure safe return-to-play decisions.
- Maintain accurate medical records by documenting assessments, treatment plans, and patient progress.
- Manage and maintain the trainer’s office, supplies, and equipment.
Qualifications
CAATE-accredited Bachelor’s degree required.Active ATC and LAT licensure required.Active BLS certification required.Active CWIS, PATCH, and FBI clearances required.Prior work experience as an Athletic Trainer required.2+ years of Head Athletic Trainer / management experience preferred.
