Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Personal Umbrella Claims Team, managing excess liability claims. We seek professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments, are eager to develop as claim examiners, and are committed to investigating, evaluating, and resolving excess claims. If you are passionate about learning and developing your skills in liability claims, RLI offers a unique environment to grow.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Confirm coverage.
  • Monitor primary insurer's handling of liability claims (auto, premises, personal injury), including investigation and evaluation of liability, causation, and damages.
  • Review and evaluate medical records and bills.
  • Assist team members with investigations and file management.
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including written reports.
  • Monitor for claim resolution proactively.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of auto claim handling experience, including litigated claims, preferred.
  • Experience with umbrella / excess claims and coverage evaluation is a plus.

  • Proactive investigation, handling, and resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of auto liability and defenses.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Organized, self-motivated, task-oriented.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.

    • Compensation Overview

    The base salary range is $55,641 - $78,036, complemented by our total rewards package, including bonuses, stock ownership, and benefits. The offered salary depends on location, experience, and qualifications.
