Position Overview :
The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for simulating treatment set-ups according to physician instructions, performing dosimetric calculations, and accurately delivering prescribed radiation therapy.
This role also involves assisting in brachytherapy procedures and ensuring the safety and care of patients while adhering to all policies and standards.
Compensation :

The starting compensation for this role is $90,000, plus benefits.
Key Responsibilities :
- Simulate treatment set-ups according to physician instruction.
- Perform dosimetric calculations under the supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.
- Accurately deliver the prescribed course of radiation therapy.
- Assist in brachytherapy procedures.
- Check all safety and operational procedures for treatment machines / simulators.
- Verify dose measurements and report discrepancies to the physicist.
- Ensure compliance with policies and standards, promoting safe care to patients and staff.
- Support professional growth by meeting education requirements and serving as a mentor to less experienced staff.
Requirements
Qualifications :
- 1-2 years of experience in Radiation Therapy preferred.
- Ability to lift and / or maneuver patients in conjunction with others.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer interactions and a collaborative work environment.
Desired Skills :
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience in patient care and safety protocols.
Technical Skills :
- Proficiency in dosimetric calculations and use of treatment machines.
- Knowledge of safety and operational procedures in radiation therapy.
Desired Certifications :
- Certified Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiation Therapy Technologists (ARRT-T) or temporary certification for recent graduates (up to 60 days post-graduation).
- Licensed by the Texas Department of Health (CMRT).
