Job Description :
As a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, you will work part-time, providing essential support to the supervising speech and language pathologist.
Your responsibilities include :
- Speech and Language Interventions :
- Work independently, following plans provided by the Speech and Language Pathologist.
- Provide speech and language interventions for designated students, including oral, written manual, and augmentative communication.
- Administrative Duties :
- Perform clerical and technical tasks for the Speech and Language Pathologist, such as preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring IEP (Individualized Education Program) compliance.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and student progress based on established intervention plans.
- Collaboration and Representation :
- Consult and collaborate with the Speech and Language Pathologist, other building personnel, and SPED (Special Education) team members regarding services to students.
- Represent the Speech and Language Pathologist during IEP meetings and other team meetings.
- Student Services :
- Assist the Speech and Language Pathologist in providing services for students with disabilities.
- Tasks include scheduling, screening, observations, instruction, and data collection in classrooms and / or individual / small group settings.
- Health Services Documentation :
- Document health-related services in the Designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD (Douglas County School District) School Medicaid Reimbursement Program.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders
- Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology
- First Aid & CPR Certification (American Heart Association)
- Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certification (SLPA) - ASHA and Colorado Department of Education
