Job Summary
The Part-Time Testing Technician plays a role in facilitating the examination process for PVCC students and community members.
Primarily responsible for administering a diverse range of online and paper / pencil exams using various online platforms and software, the technician ensures adherence to strict testing protocols and maintains a secure testing environment, both in-person and virtually.
Additionally, the role involves offering informational support to students, faculty, and the public regarding testing center operations, alongside providing general clerical assistance and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive materials.
This position also involves learning and utilizing computer systems and equipment, and may include fee collection duties.
The Testing Technician performs all tasks with a focus on confidentiality, security, and accuracy, while contributing to the efficient functioning of the testing center.
Essential Functions
75% - Administers a variety of online and paper / pencil exams to PVCC students and community members by using various online systems and software.
Acts as the official test proctor for these exams and follows strict, established policies and procedures. Ensures a secure and appropriate testing environment both in-person and virtually.
15% - Provides general and specific information to students, faculty and the public regarding the operation of the testing center.
Provides general clerical assistance including typing, filing, answering phones, maintaining testing center email, and light cleaning.
10% - Maintains confidentiality and security of materials and information; learns to use computer systems and equipment, may collect fees.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and one year of clerical, administrative office support or related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experiences sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
