MC : Perioperative Core (Full-Time, Day Shift)-

  • The Program Specialist, Perioperative Services, provides operational and financial analysis and managerial accounting services to assist the Perioperative Division in the effective performance of their responsibilities;
  • assigns billing codes and descriptions to new inventory items; updates and maintains perioperative billing / inventory in designated software programs;
  • collaborates with Patient Billing Office (PBO), Health Information Management (HIM), and Decision Support Services (DSS);
  • researches billing issues; performs audits; creates reports; provides financial analyses to assist department billing and posting performance;
  • identifies opportunities to increase revenue; serves as informatics systems administrator for the software programs utilized in Perioperative Services;
  • updates and maintains the Service Master data for Perioperative Services; utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service in a manner that supports excellence in customer service;

promotes a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce. These services may be provided for both LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals.

Performs other duties as needed.

High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one year experience as records analyst or healthcare finance field required.

  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer proficiently and operate printer and software programs necessary to the position;
  • troubleshoot basic office equipment necessary to the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others;
  • be assertive and consistent in following and / or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure;
  • accept direction; practice active listening skills. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone;
  • think critically; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload;
  • work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision;

stay self-motivated; remain flexible and able to deal with complex and uncertain situations.
