Pay : $16.00 / hr Contract : 3-Month Assignment

Location : Houston, TX 77024

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM

(Hybrid / Remote - In-office Thursdays only)

Job Summary :

Protouch Staffing is seeking an Experienced Patient Access Representative - Billing & Collections for a 3-month contract role. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of current experience in a hospital or physician office setting , with a strong understanding of patient account billing, insurance verification, and collections.

This position plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate billing and reimbursement by analyzing patient accounts, researching account histories, and preparing third-party billing for Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Champus, HMO / PPO / POS plans, Workers' Compensation, and Special Contracts.

You'll be responsible for identifying and correcting account errors, adjustments, and credits while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and efficiency.

Principal Accountabilities :

Account Analysis & Billing : Analyze patient accounts and determine appropriate information for billing third-party insurance carriers within required timelines.

Claims Processing : Prepare and submit accurate third-party billing, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines and regulations.

Error Resolution : Review accounts for errors, adjustments, and credits, issuing corrected entries as necessary.

Insurance Verification : Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations to ensure timely and accurate claim submission.

Patient Scheduling & Data Entry : Schedule appointments and accurately input patient information into the system.

Demographic & Financial Collection : Gather and enter patient demographic, insurance, and financial data with precision.

Payment Processing : Post patient payments, generate receipts, and maintain accurate financial records.

Communication : Maintain professional communication with patients, staff, insurance companies, and physicians to resolve billing and claim issues promptly.

Compliance : Ensure adherence to billing and coding compliance, privacy, and medical necessity requirements.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of current experience in a hospital or healthcare billing setting.

Skills :

Strong multitasking and organizational skills.

Proficient typing and data entry skills.

Knowledge of medical billing, insurance guidelines, and account reconciliation.

Experience with EPIC EMR preferred.

Requirements :

Seasonal Flu Vaccine.

Current TB Skin Test or Chest X-ray.

Able to pass preemployment Criminal Background and Drug Screen
