Fairview Health Services is seeking compassionate and driven Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our dynamic Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Fairview Ridges Hospital, located in Burnsville, Minnesota-just 20 minutes south of downtown Minneapolis near the intersection of I-35E and I-35W.

Schedule : This position will work 48 hours per pay period, nights, 12 hour shifts with every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
About the NICU Unit :

Unit Size : Up to 23 beds
Patient Population : High-risk and premature newborns, including those born as early as 28 weeks gestation
Role of the RN :
Provide advanced, family-centered neonatal care
Monitor and manage complex conditions in premature and critically ill infants
Attends deliveries, providing stabilization and support during the transitional phase of a newborn. Transports newborns to Special Care Nursery and admits newborns requiring specialized nursing care and close observation.
Provides care for newborns and premature infants, requiring specialized nursing care and close observation. Performs and / or assists with procedures.
Provides Parent & Family Education and emotional support
Uses Epic and Pyxis system

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Required : MN RN License
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
RN NICU experience
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months post hire onto the unit.
Preferred : BSN
Charge Nurse or willing to train into charge within six months of hire.
One year of RN experience in peds or OB care OR
One year of RN experience in level II or level III nursery OR
One year or RN experience in an ICU / PICU setting OR
Completion of a Capstone or similar preceptorship experience in a NICU setting.
