About The Position
Job Title : Respiratory Therapist I Job Specialty : Respiratory Care Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Days, 5x8 Hr Guaranteed Hours : 40.
00 hours per week Experience : No prior experience required License : Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Certifications : Registered CRT or RRT, BLS Must-Have : Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program Job Description : Administer standard respiratory care, including aerosol medication delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises, oxygen therapy, arterial cannulation, and arterial punctures.
- Provide all aspects of airway management, including aspiration of established airways, tracheostomy care, tracheostomy tube changes, endotracheal intubations, and extubations.
- Perform pulmonary function testing as needed.- When required, transport pediatric and neonatal patients adhering to protocol guidelines.
- Conduct respiratory care and advanced practice procedures, including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, intravenous insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABGs, blood glucose monitoring, and additional required procedures.
- Manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support.- Be available for on-call duties during days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform all facets of ventilator care, utilizing specialized ventilator modes to manage the disease process.- Provide appropriate monitoring and weaning techniques for ventilated patients.
- Maintain and improve job knowledge and skills.- Serve as a resource for staff, reflecting experience level, and offer guidance to physicians and new staff.
- Assist in training new staff members, students, and physicians.- Provide in-services as required.- May take on Charge Therapist responsibilities.
- Record all pertinent patient care information in the electronic medical record system, following hospital and departmental policies.
