Description :

This unit has 10 LDR beds, 3 triage beds, and 2 OR suites.

There are 30 RNs on staff.

During the day shift, the staffing includes 1 Charge RN, 2 LDR RNs, and 1 Nursery RN.

The night shift has 1 Charge RN, 2 LDR RNs, and 1 Nursery RN.

The patient ratio is 2 laboring patients per 1 RN.

Equipment used includes GE monitoring systems, Novii Wireless, Spectrum IV Pumps, and CADD epidural PCA.

The EMR system in use is Meditech.

The unit welcomes travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters.

Candidates must have NRP and BLS certifications.

Intermediate Fetal Monitoring and ACLS certifications are preferred.

Typical procedures performed on the unit include inductions, cesarean sections, and spontaneous vaginal deliveries.

Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

The dress code consists of OR scrubs.

The unit holds recognition as the reigning champion of the annual Holiday Hat Contest.

Unit morale is enhanced by the unit mascot, which is a flamingo.
