Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff-level Software Engineer to join our team supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU).
This position would be based in the Morrisville, North Carolina area.
This role will be coding in a mix of primarily Java and some Python.
Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following :
Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs applications software, and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
Ensures software standards are met
Maintain and improve the software CI / CD pipelines to enable fast, bug-free delivery of critical business software to production
Set up and deploy Development, Test, and Build environments
Create and update Windows installers
Install, test, and verify software products
Maintain multiple baseline repositories
Provide support for the software build and installation
This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.
Basic Qualifications
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD TS / SCI (Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information) security clearance at time of application
Must be willing to submit and successfully complete a Counterintelligence polygraph
Minimum years of experience needed to be considered :
12 Years of relevant experience with a completed bachelor’s degree
10 Years of relevant experience with a completed master's degree
8 Years of relevant experience with a completed PhD
14 Years of relevant experience with a completed associate’s degree
16 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required)
Must have experience on the below :
Python
Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
Developing in an automated CI / CD pipeline, unit testing, integration testing
Must be able to collaborate and work with geographically distant parties
Preferred Qualifications
Java experience highly encouraged - in-lieu of Java, experience in C# / C++ a plus
Front-end experience and / or interest in using JavaScript frameworks, (Destiny)
Working in an Agile environment
Developing using microservice architecture in a Cloud environment
Experience and / or interest in developing with AWS
Space / Space Missions Domain Knowledge
Experience with Rest & JMS
Data processing knowledge
Git, maven, helm, harbor
Experience with Robot Framework, Cucumber, or other similar Automated Test Frameworks
Proclivity for SW / Microservice Architecture and Design

Salary Range : $150,000 - $225,000The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and / or personal business.
