A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMPUTER SUPPORT SPECIALIST II
As a Computer Support Specialist II, you spend your day performing backups and system cleanup, and assists in handling staff equipment issue and return.
Your work typically involves installs, maintains, assists, and performs repairs to hardware, software, cameras or information resources equipment.
Your job is essential to the city, you schedule service calls, and interact with all users such as vendors for supplies and equipment.
You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include proper maintenance of power connection, antenna connection of police radios in police vehicles.
You also assist in the installs, supports, and maintains software. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.
The city needs someone like you with skills in information technology and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COMPUTER SUPPORT SPECIALIST II
- Associate degree in computer hardware and software repair
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- One (1) year experience in LAN / WAN and Computer / Networking related field.
Three (3) years' experience in the related fields.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the city's expense
- Bilingual English / Spanish Preferred
