Accountant
A leading manufacturer in the Plastics Industry, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our finance team.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of reconciliation, journal entries, and the unique aspects of accounting within the manufacturing industry.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial health of our operations, through accurate financial reporting, reconciliation, and cost management.

Key Responsibilities : Financial Reconciliation : Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly reconciliations of various accounts including bank accounts, general ledger, inventory, and manufacturing costs.
Journal Entries : Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies.
Manufacturing Accounting : Maintain and analyze manufacturing cost data, including inventory management, cost of goods sold (COGS), and overhead allocation.
General Ledger : Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts related to the manufacturing process, ensuring accuracy of financial records.
Accounts Payable / Receivable : Assist with processing invoices, managing payment cycles, and ensuring the timely collection of receivables.
Budgeting & Forecasting : Support the finance team with budgeting and forecasting activities, particularly related to manufacturing expenses and cost control.
Financial Reporting : Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Audits : Support internal and external audits by preparing relevant documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Cost Analysis : Analyze variances in production costs and assist management in understanding key cost drivers within the manufacturing process.
Compliance : Ensure that all accounting activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial laws related to manufacturing.
Qualifications : Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience : Minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems)
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, data analysis)
Knowledge : Understanding of GAAP, reconciliation, and cost accounting principles specific to manufacturing.
Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to work with cross-functional teams including operations and management.
Preferred Qualifications : Experience with inventory and fixed asset management in a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly in a manufacturing or production environment.
CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
