In order to help Texas Bay Credit Union (TBCU) distinctively stand out as a leading financial institution, the VP of Technology is responsible for leading and managing the technology strategy and operations within the credit union.
Ensuring the effective, efficient, and secure operation of all automated data processing systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- As a member of the Executive Team, participate in planning credit union growth and coordinating the strategic plan with the development of long-term and short-term plans for technology within the organization.
- Manage and supervise employees in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, terminations, promotions, time off requests, scheduling, transfers, performance appraisals, conducting meetings, and training, approving time records, and development and coaching of staff.
- Responsible for maintaining the highest standards of integrity, personal responsibility, sense of community, and teamwork by self-example.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of IT infrastructure, including cloud computing, data centers, VMware, and network architecture.
Ensure systems are stable, secure, and scalable to meet organizational needs.
Lead the development and enforcement of information security policies and practices to protect the credit union’s data and systems.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, including capital and operational expenditures. Optimize resource allocation to achieve cost-effective and efficient technology solutions.
- Manage technology projects from inception to completion, including software development, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Establish and maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts and oversee the delivery of services to ensure they meet the credit union’s needs and expectations.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plan. Lead the implementation and testing of recovery strategies to ensure minimal disruption in case of a technology failure.
- Formulate, recommend, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure appropriate security of member data and credit union systems.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. Identify opportunities for technological advancements that can enhance operational efficiency and member satisfaction.
- Work closely with other departments and executive leadership to identify technology needs and develop solutions that support business objectives.
Act as a key advisor on technology-related matters.
