Job Purpose

Responsible for the setup and monitoring of Aerospace / Defense Thermal Battery Testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up Test apparatus and conduct required product tests using detailed test procedures.
  • Prepare products for testing by installing thermocouples and soldering test cables.
  • Assemble product test cables using provided detailed drawings.
  • Use hand and small power tools and various test equipment to perform job duties.
  • Calibrate, adjust and maintain test equipment and systems per detailed instructions.
  • Organize product test procedures and required documentation to perform testing.
  • Receive equipment spare and repair parts requests, identify multiple part sources and write General Purchase Requests.
  • Tabulate Battery Performance Test Data for Design Verification, Qualification and Lot Acceptance reports.
  • Receive, document, organize and perform data management for Work Orders, Development Tests, Qualification Tests, Lot Acceptance Tests and Equipment Calibrations.
  • Write / update Operating Instructions for existing and new battery development programs.
  • Populate required test reports with the test data.

Qualifications

  • Basic technical knowledge of electrical / electronic principals
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs. (Word Excel, Access and Power Point).
  • Good written and oral communication skills with employees, customers and vendors.
  • Demonstrate and utilize problem solving techniques.
  • Associate Degree or a Technical Vocational Training Certificate with 1 to 5 years of technical experience.

General Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds / 11.5 kilos on occasions.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead / fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead.

  • Risk of electrical shock.
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime.
