Senior Staff AccountantResponsibilities : -Post and process journal entries for insurance operations activity-Preparation of monthly general ledger account reconciliations-Assist with monthly, quarterly and year end close-Prepare NAIC / Regulatory STAT filings, which include quarterly and annual statements-Various state and / or Regulatory Data Calls-Support the internal and external audit process-Assist in the preparation of financial reports for review by the executive team, the Office of Insurance Regulation, auditors, banking entities, and reinsurers.
Continuously drives process improvement within the team and supports cross-functional initiatives.-Strong understanding of Insurance Industry processes and experience preparing the NAIC Statutory Financial-Strong attention to detail with quantitative skills and some experience in data analysis including proficiency in Excel with pivot tables and / or macros Education : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or other related field from a four-year institution.
The bachelor's degree is a minimum educational requirement for this position, and cannot be waived. Required Experience : 4 to 7 years in a staff accounting role in the property and casualty insurance industry.
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with both GAAP and statutory accounting principles. Skills & Knowledge : -Microsoft Office Suite : Excel, Outlook, Word (required)-General Ledger or Accounts Payable systems (required)-Exceptional organization skills.
