Nurse Practitioner – Correctional Medicine

Location : California City, CA 93505

Compensation : $110,000–$175,000 / year + Full Relocation Package + Signing Bonus (Negotiable)

Schedule : Full-Time | On-Site Only

About the Role

Lions & Bears Staffing Partners is seeking a Mid-Level Nurse Practitioner to join a secure, facility-based medical program in California City, CA. You’ll deliver high-impact care to an underserved population, working closely with a multidisciplinary team under the direction of a Health Services Administrator and facility physician. This is an excellent opportunity for a mission-driven provider who values structure, autonomy, and the ability to focus on direct patient care—without the chaos of hospital or clinic volume.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive medical care including exams, diagnosis, medication administration, and treatment planning

Order and evaluate diagnostics and lab work

Collaborate with physicians and internal medical staff

Ensure appropriate documentation and compliance with correctional care standards

Participate in clinical rounds, chart reviews, and team meetings

Manage chronic and acute conditions with a preventative approach

Support emergency care and medical response protocols

Participate in audits, safety reviews, and accreditation processes (NCCHC, ACA, JCAHO)

Qualifications

Current licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with family practice training in California

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Minimum 1 year of professional NP experience

Must be 18 years or older

Strong interpersonal, documentation, and decision-making skills

Comfortable working in a secure or institutional healthcare setting
