POSITION TITLE : Childcare Supervisor Pregnant and Parenting Women Services Exempt Position
RESPONSIBLE TO : Women’s Services Program Director
Hourly Wage : $20.50 - $24.00 - $500 Dollar New Hire Bonus
Major Duties : Provides program oversight and clinical supervision for staff in the children’s program under the guidance of the PPW Program Director.
Activities include ensuring effective service delivery, maintenance of client records, contract compliance, public relations, interactions with families and liaison with courts and various government and private agencies and officials.
Incumbent performs the following activities : The position will work with the Program Director to ensure that the program’s onsite childcare program is following all state required rules and regulations.
- Maintains current understanding of Washington Administrative Codes (WACs) and Revised Codes of Washington (RCWs) and federal regulations pertaining to Substance Use dependency treatment and early childhood education;
- Ensures that continuous quality improvement addresses both patient needs and compliance with WACs, RCWs, and federal regulations;
- Ensures treatment programs are in compliance with Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) and Department of Licensing (DOL) certification reviews;
- Prepares and submits statistical reports to the PPW Program Director for program compliance with contract performance indicators;
- Provides clinical supervision of patient services including case staffing, chart entries, case audits, and treatment plan reviews;
- Provides orientation of new staff to their assigned unit;
- Implements and ensures compliance with Lifeline Connections policies & procedures;
- Prepares and presents in-service training to childcare and clinical staff as appropriate;
- Provides direct service (childcare, assessments, groups, individuals).
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Bachelors’ degree in early childhood education, psychology, social work, or related social service field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Level 4 or 5, Washington Core Competencies for Early Care & Education Professionals;
- Knowledge of childcare licensing requirements for the state of Washington required;
- Able to meet licensing requirements of a Substance Use Dependency Professional in Washington State (SUDP) consistent with WAC 246-341 and RCW 18.205 preferred;
- Previous management experience preferred;
- Current CPR / First Aid certification for adults and infants.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent attendance and a self-starter;
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and provide consistent structure;
- Ability to work well with others.
GUIDELINES :
The position requires that the incumbent maintain certification or qualification standards delineated in WAC 246-341, or its successor, and maintains licensure with the Department of Health.
The incumbent relies on specialized training and / or equivalent experience in the field of Substance Use dependency treatment, DBHR, WACs and RCWs of Washington and the performance standards developed for the position.
COMPLEXITY :
The incumbent assists with program oversight and supervision to patients who differ widely in age and socioeconomic status and who may possess a variety of chronic and serious social, behavioral and psychological problems.
Further, s / he provides supervision for Substance Use dependency counselors, counselor interns, and students. Autonomy, clinical maturity, sound judgment, and creativity are required to help identify and monitor policies and treatment activities that will meet the complex needs of both patients and staff.
PERSONAL CONTACTS :
Contacts are with members of the treatment team, patients, significant others of the clients, Board of Directors, representatives of various community agencies specializing in the treatment of chemical abuse and related community representatives including lawyers, probation officers, and other court officials.
All personal contacts are carried out in accordance with federal and state laws dealing with the confidentiality of alcohol and drug abuse patient records.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, write clearly and cohesively and to present information effectively both orally and in writing.
Hear and use hands and fingers to manipulate writing utensils and keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or lift and / or move maximum of 15 lbs.
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
The employee may be regularly required to effectively operate an automobile.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Most working hours are spent indoors in offices or meeting rooms. Occasional supervision of outdoor activities, visits to community agencies, and participation in staff retreats and staff development activities may be required.
