Job Title : Quality Technician

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Job Summary : Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards. Ensuring goods and products comply with company standards as well as Federal and State law.

Reports to : Quality Manager

Direct Reports : None

Authority : Make decisions about Accept / Reject status on all product and materials

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for ensuring that products shipped meet all product specifications. This includes inspecting incoming materials, manufactured parts, purchased parts and outside service parts.
  • Must have a complete understanding of inspection tools and how to use them.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Participate in MRB process, determining dispositions of nonconforming materials or products.
  • Participate in NCMR and RMA processes and tracking progress on all items.
  • Manage CAR-NCR log, keeping it accurate and up to date.
  • Must be knowledgeable in ISO Standards and objectives to maintain and reinforce as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining and recording accurate quality documentation.
  • Must be able to work extended hours when required.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Must be honest, reliable and conscientious.
  • Task requires comprehension of high school math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Must be able to perform computer work.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel, Word, e-mail.
  • Must be able to work well with others.
  • Must be able to read and understand Fabrication blue prints and Machining blue prints including Basic GD&T.(As applicable).
  • Tasks require walking, bending, climbing, lifting and standing.
  • Tasks require the use of small hand tools, instruments and materials 60% of the time.
  • Tasks require visual inspection and reading measurement tools and instruments.
  • Tasks require flexibility and adaptability at a rapid pace.
  • Experience with metal stamping, machining, forming and assembly preferred
