The University of Virginia (UVA) Department of Public Health Sciences (PHS) is recruiting an open rank faculty position in biostatistics.
This tenure-eligible faculty position will play a significant role in participating in collaborative research projects, developing independent high-impact statistical research, and participating in the department's educational activities.
The candidate will participate in a multidisciplinary research program to advance clinical trial design and application, along with developing collaborations in support of the mission of the School of Medicine.
The successful candidate must have research interest in early phase clinical trials and applied translational statistics.
The open rank position candidate will be expected to work within the Center for Early Phase Trials (CEPT) ( Center for Early Phase Trials - Public Health Sciences (virginia.
edu) ) and collaboratively with investigators within the UVA School of Medicine. Applicants with methodologic or applied expertise in Bayesian methods for clinical trials, small sample predictive modeling or sequential analysis, are encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants will have a PhD in Biostatistics, or closely related field, have collaborative research and teaching experience, as well as the preferred expertise in the areas of interest for each position.
Qualifiations
Minimum Requirements
Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, or a closely related quantitative field
Experience collaborating on R01 or equivalent grant applications
Teaching experience at the graduate level
Preferred Requirements
Experience in the design and execution of adaptive clinical trials
Proven track record of extramural funding
