At CMCS (Cardinal McCloskey Community Services), our mission is to protect, empower and promote independence for at-risk children and families and those with developmental disabilities through quality community-based services.
As a Social Work Supervisor , you will play an important role in the lives of the people we support. The FT / R program is designed to assess the safety and wellbeing of children in high-risk families throughout the borough of the Bronx when a caretaker or child's substance use, or mental health disorder places the child at risk of foster care placement or replacement.
The unit aims to improve safety and reduce repeat maltreatment. The Supervisor is expected to assume the overall responsibility for supervision of case planning and other supportive staff to ensure appropriate and timely intervention with all families.
The Supervisor will exhibit a leadership style that is mission and vision oriented, goal driven and strategic.
Responsibilities :
- Supervises up to 5 Social Workers and 2 case aides, each one managing caseloads of up 10 families.
- Conducts regularly scheduled monthly case supervision and weekly individual professional development.
- Documentation of case supervision is in alignment with ACS program standards and indicators.
- Aides in the development of comprehensive assessments to identify the strengths and needs of children and / or parents with substance abuse and / or mental health needs.
- Continually assesses the level of family engagement in services, the extent of behavior changes related to the facts and circumstances that led to the preventive referral, and the level of in-home functioning to achieve improved outcomes and meet performance-based funding metrics.
- Monitors progress of service delivery efforts including weekly casework contacts and ensure compliance with ACS program standards and indicators.
Requirements :
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Master's Degree in Human Services with 1 year of experience.
- At minimum 1 year of managerial experience in an ACS contracted prevention program
Additional Requirements :
- Working knowledge of ACS Prevention Standards and Policies, as well as CONNECTIONS and PROMIS data systems.
- Flexibility to meet changing needs and demands.
- Fluency in Spanish and English a Plus
