Description

Position Summary :

The person in this position will be responsible for the daily oversight of a comprehensive trauma-informed care led program.

This role involves coordinating with staff to ensure that the program effectively addresses the needs of individuals served.

The Program Manager will support efforts to create a safe, supportive, and rehabilitative environment.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Assist with oversight of all aspects of the Red Tent Initiative program.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of trauma-informed services and activities to program participants.
  • Complete RTWI trauma-informed care curriculum training to include instruction of HeartMath or approved resiliency building researched based program within 6 months of hire.
  • Develop and implement program schedules, including individual and group sessions, workshops, and training.
  • Coordinate cross-project activities.
  • Develop and maintain professional collaborative relationships with external partners
  • Collaborate with correctional staff, mental health professionals, and external partners to coordinate services and support for participants.
  • Serve as a liaison between the program and other jail departments to ensure integrated care.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with the Program Director and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in supervision of program staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address any staff-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that assessments and interventions are conducted and documented appropriately.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust services as needed.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention and support services for participants as required.
  • Attends meetings and training opportunities in the community as requested by the Program Director.
  • Review and monitor all staff's written correspondence with outside agencies as needed
  • Completes all orientation and mandated training activities, including E-Learning Courses, within required timeframes, and in accordance with the criteria established for this position.
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications :

Certifications / Licensures :

Licensure as a LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in good standing by an agency approved and recognized by the state of Florida is preferred at time of hire.

Preference will be given to those candidates who are currently licensed.

Education :

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or related human services field.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or related human services field is preferred.

Experience and Competencies :

  • Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position
  • Thorough understanding of project / program management techniques and methods
  • Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
  • Must have reliable means of transportation.
  • Maintains confidential files and records.
  • The ability to determine appropriateness and eligibility for consumers' admission.
  • The ability to evaluate the impact of substance use and mental health problems on the consumer's functioning in major life areas.
  • Knowledge of the inter-relationship among substance use, mental health, and primary care disorders
  • CPR Certification and First Aid
  • Knowledge in the understanding and application of various counseling theories (e.g., behavior modification, motivational enhancement therapy, cognitive therapy, etc.).
  • Knowledge in the understanding of Motivational Interviewing; Motivational Enhancement Therapy; Comprehensive, Continuous Integrated System of Care (CCISC);

and Trauma-Informed Care.

  • The ability to identify crises when they surface; mitigate or resolve the immediate problem; and de-escalate the situation, including the ability to develop Safety Plans, as needed.
  • Ability to converse with consumers about addiction, risk factors, and medical care.
  • Knowledge and application of developmental theories
  • Knowledge and application of developmental psychopathology
  • Understanding of family dynamics, family roles, and family structure
  • Understanding and application of federal, state, local and agency confidentiality rules and professional standards of conduct
  • The ability to interface and communicate with internal and external providers.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with members of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to organize, interpret and communicate data in a comprehensive and effective manner.
  • Knowledge in the understanding and application of time management and stress management.
  • Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Understands, communicates (both verbally and in writing), and collaborates effectively and with precision, given the time constraints of each task.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize.
  • Understanding of professional ethics, consumer rights, and professional responsibilities
  • The ability to assess the individual's growth and development relative to normative development for his / her chronological age, including physical, emotional, cognitive, educational, and social development.
  • Ability to network with internal and external departments and agencies.
  • Ability to organize, interpret, and communicate data in a comprehensive and effective manner.
  • Understanding of issues related to cultural identity, ethnic background, age, developmental level, gender and sexual orientation in prevention, intervention, and treatment.
  • Understands that different cultural and ethnic groups have different perceptions of health, wellness, behavioral health, and preventive health services.
  • Demonstrates respect for individual's cultural and ethnic values when conducting assessments, developing Wellness and Recovery Plans, and providing services.
  • Understands that different cultures define and perceive family and its importance differently.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and populations.
  • Ability to use trauma informed care principles including ensuring consumer safety, preventing / avoiding re-traumatization, maximizing trustworthiness, enhancing consumer choice, maximizing collaboration, and emphasizing empowerment.
  • Ability to identify and describe key signs, symptoms, impact and manifestations of trauma.
  • Aware of the differences between trauma informed and trauma-specific services.
  • Understands the bidirectional relationships among substance use and mental disorders and trauma.
  • Understands the differences among various kinds of abuse and trauma, including : physical, emotional, and sexual abuse;

domestic violence; experiences of war for both combat veterans and survivors of war; natural disasters; and community violence

  • Knowledge of WestCare Mission, goals and values
  • Knowledge of Incident Reporting
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, Professional Ethics, Consumer Rights and Confidentiality
  • Familiarity with WestCare services and programs

Working Conditions :

  • Work is performed primarily in a professional, office setting or jail system.
  • Regular attendance is required. Working overtime may be required and essential to perform job duties at times.
  • Some local and out-of-state travel.
