Job Overview : As a virtual School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Georgia, your primary responsibility will be to provide speech and language services to students in a virtual learning environment.
You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders in school-aged children.
This role is full-time for the 2024 / 25 school year. This is a 1099 position.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assessment and Evaluation : Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students' speech and language skills using appropriate standardized tests, clinical observations, and parent / teacher input.
- Treatment Planning : Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and student goals, incorporating evidence-based practices and strategies.
- Therapy Sessions : Conduct virtual therapy sessions using teletherapy platforms, engaging students in activities to improve speech production, language comprehension, social communication, and other areas as needed.
- Progress Monitoring : Regularly monitor and document students' progress towards speech and language goals, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure meaningful outcomes.
- Collaboration : Collaborate with school teams, including teachers, special education staff, and administrators, to support students' overall academic success and social-emotional development.
- Parent / Teacher Consultation : Provide guidance and training to parents and teachers on strategies to support students' speech and language skills in the classroom and at home.
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessment results, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork according to school and regulatory guidelines.
- Professional Development : Stay current with best practices, research findings, and trends in the field of speech-language pathology through professional development activities and continuing education.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- Valid Georgiacertification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certification (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a school-based or pediatric setting.
- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders, assessments, and intervention strategies.
- Proficiency in using teletherapy platforms and technology for remote service delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with students, parents, and educational teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage caseload efficiently in a remote setting.
