Job Title : Clinician I

FLSA Status : Exempt

Department : ACT Team

Reports to : ACT Team Program Supervisor

Position Summary :

The Camillus House ACT Team Program is dedicated to the treatment and recovery of adults living with a serious mental illness in Miami-Dade County. Clients are chronically homeless and may have a co-occurring substance abuse disorder. The program offers permanent supportive housing with individualized community-based treatment, rehabilitation, and supports designed to meet the needs of adults living with serious mental illness.

Under the supervision of the ACT Team Program Supervisor, the ACT Team Clinician provides clinical services to individuals who were formerly homeless and suffer from mental health and / or co-occurring disorders. The purpose of this position is to assist the resident to remain housed and to pursue their goals.

  • Provides individual and group counseling, psycho-educational groups, and documentation of these services.
  • Conducts psychosocial assessments and reviews them at least annually.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors clients treatment plans at least quarterly and as needed.
  • Documents clients progress in treatment with progress notes within 24 hours of client encounter (in HMIS, ICANotes, or any other database being utilized).
  • Document the clients discharge or transfer plans.
  • Attends treatment team meetings with other staff members involved with the client to assist with the ongoing development of clients treatment plan.
  • Attends supervision as scheduled.
  • Attends all scheduled and called staff meetings.
  • Participates in disaster planning.
  • Referrals and follow-up to legal, medical, social services, etc. for clients.
  • Ensures annual client reviews are completed in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Physical Demands : While performing job duties, an employee is required to stand, walk, and use hands / fingers. May occasionally lift and move up to 25 lbs., clean (sit, bend / twist neck, bend / twist waist, squat, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, reach, handle, kneel, crawl, reach above / below shoulder height, repetitive movements, wipe, sweep, dust, mop). Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, color vision.
  • Work Environment : The noise level of the work environment can range from low to moderate.

    • Work Schedule :

  • Non-Remote Position
  • Full-time : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (i.e., evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call), as needed

    • Requirements :

  • Ability to understand and practice the mission of Camillus House.
  • Education : Masters Degree preferred in Mental Health / Social Work or related field; any appropriate combination of education, experience, and / or certification will be considered.
  • Experience : A minimum of 2 years of experience in the same or similar job role is preferred.
  • Language : Proficiency in oral / written English; Spanish preferred; additional languages a plus (i.e., Creole).
  • Skills : Computer literacy required (Word, Excel, other data entry programs).
  • Successful completion of toxicology test and of Level 2 background screening, and OIG.
  • Have a Valid FL Driver License with clean driving record and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
  • Culturally sensitive to the social, psychological, and healthcare needs of the vulnerable populations serviced.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills in order to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrates a high level of productivity while remaining calm and effective under pressure.
  • A self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as with multidisciplinary teams and co-workers.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
  • Ability to establish supportive, respectful, trusting relationships with persons with histories of homelessness, severe and persistent mental illnesses, trauma, and co-occurring substance use disorders.
