As the Public Affairs Specialist, you will play a critical role in shaping the voice of NACE, developing and executing communication strategies to promote our 98 park sites across 8,000 acres of urban and natural spaces in the Washington, D.C. area.

Your work will include :

  • Developing and implementing communication strategies to highlight NACE’s parks and programs.
  • Drafting news releases, social media content, and other media materials to share park events and initiatives.
  • Serving as the primary media contact, responding to press inquiries, and conducting interviews on behalf of NACE.
  • Managing complex communication plans from conception to execution across multiple platforms.
  • Engaging with local, regional, and national media to raise awareness of NACE’s portfolio of diverse resources.
  • Fostering community relationships and crafting relevant narratives that resonate with the region’s diverse audiences.

A successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, be adept at handling media relations, and demonstrate strong oral communication.

They will also manage multiple communications projects with attention to detail, ensuring that the diverse cultural fabric of the communities we serve is thoughtfully represented.
