Unit Notes : - Unit : L&D / PP- # L&D Beds : 14 beds- # triage beds : 6 triage beds, 2 OR suites- # Postpartum beds : 28 beds- # births per day, per year : 250 births per month- Certs : ACLS, BLS, Fetal HM - AWOHNN (adv) for L&D, BLS, NRP required for Postpartum- Ratios : 2 to 1 laboring, follow AWOHNN guidelines, 1 to 4 couplet care- FHM System : Fetal Link- EMR : Cerner- Charge Nurse : yes - they try not to take a patient assignment- Nurse Aides / OB tech : OB tech - yes, day and night shift- Weekend Requirement : every other- Call Requirement : no - may have to be on standby- Holidays : they will work them in with perm staff rotation- Scrub Color : Nurses - navy for PP, ob tech and L&D nurses - seal blue (provided)- Tele : Phillips- Vents : No- OB / Neonataologist in house : No but available if needed- IV Team : No- RT 24 / 7 : Yes- Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes- Shifts : 12 hr shifts - 7a-7p or 7p-7a- C-section experience required : Will be required to circulate for c-sections.
Scrubbing experience is preferred.- Floating : They will have to float to postpartum, PP will NOT have to float to L&D- Floor specific orientation : 3 shifts- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : any gestational age, antepartum, high risk deliveries, substance abuse, pre-eclampsia, insulin dependent diabeticsCancellation Policy : Hospital may cancel up to 3 times per contract.
Each cancellation could be a full shift or any part of a shift. (Hospital may also pay full hours for a particular shift, in lieu of cancellation).
