Job Title : School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)Location : Canton, CTEmployment Type : Full-Time / Part-TimeJob Description : I am seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our special education team.
The SLP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in students from PreK-12.
This position involves collaborating with teachers, parents, and special education staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support students’ communication development and academic success.
Key Responsibilities : Conduct speech and language assessments to identify communication disorders in students.Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.
Provide direct therapy services to students with a range of speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, language comprehension, and social communication.
Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to integrate speech-language interventions into the classroom environment.
Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy goals and strategies.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings, to discuss student progress, goals, and needed supports.
Provide consultation and resources to parents and educators to support student communication development both in and out of the classroom.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with state and federal regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Stay informed on current best practices in the field of speech-language pathology and apply new strategies and techniques to improve student outcomes.
Participate in professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge.Qualifications : Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Valid Connecticut SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Prior experience working in a school setting is preferred.Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
