We are sorry. The job offer you are looking for is no longer available.

Do you want to be part of an amazing engineering team working on open-source tooling that delights developers? Are you interested in helping build tools to accelerate the development of cloud applications?

The AWS SDKs and Tools team is looking for a passionate and innovative Software Developer to join the Smithy team. Smithy is an interface definition language and set of tools that allows developers to build clients and servers in multiple languages.

Smithy models define a service as a collection of resources, operations, and shapes. A Smithy model enables API providers to generate clients and servers in various programming languages, API documentation, test automation, and example code.

In this role, you will work across the internal and external communities to develop enhancements to modeling languages as well as develop new tools to simplify various aspects of cloud-based applications.

We are looking for an engineer who is obsessed with giving customers the best possible developer experience, has strong development skills, and is excited to build high-quality open-source software in a fast moving, agile environment.

To succeed in this role, you should be incredibly customer focused, have a strong understanding of programming languages and knowledge of developer communities.

You must enjoy collaborating with teams across the company and take pleasure from delighting developers with high-quality, best-of-breed development tools and libraries.

AWS has the most services and more features within those services, than any other cloud provider from infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databases to emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things.

AWS Platform is the glue that holds the AWS ecosystem together. Whether its Identity features such as access management and sign on, cryptography, console, builder & developer tools, and even projects like automating all of our contractual billing systems, AWS Platform is always innovating with the customer in mind.

The AWS Platform team sustains over 750 million transactions per second.
