Project Manager

Overview :

Overall responsibility for a business segment, including cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of the operation.

Primary Responsibilities :

Participate in scoping sessions with the client, produce detailed estimates, negotiate proposals with client, produce subcontractor bid packages, administer and oversee subcontractor field activities, produce in-house production reports and project schedules, etc.

as required to effectively manage several projects at once.

  • Coordinate work with other project managers.
  • Review material, approve submittals and check for compliance.
  • Participate and enforce in the company safety program.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Supervisory responsibilities associated with this position may include supervision of professional, technical, clerical, and / or labor staff in support of the project.

Education and / or Experience :

  • Minimum of five years' experience in construction, with emphasis in project management and estimating for small to medium sized projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction or Project Management related field is preferred but extensive experience in lieu a Degree will be considered.
  • Job order Contracting, Line Item Estimating, and Corps of Engineer contracting experience a plus.
  • Experience estimating, cost control, scheduling, etc. is required. RS Means Cost Works experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Applicants must possess excellent communicative skills and be adept in managing multiple, minor construction contracts from concept to completion.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to positively influence employees and subcontractors to actively achieve mutual goals.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including, Word, Excel, Project and E-mail business software. Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team.
  • Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.

This is a full-time, year-round position with commensurate salary and benefits. General office environment. Some travel within the state may be required based on business demands.
