We are partnered with a mid-sized pre-IPO company that is seeking a Senior Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy.
This is a crucial position that requires strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
This is a hybrid role that will require in-office reporting 2-3 times a week.
Primary Responsibilities :
Financial Statement Preparation and Review : Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company requirements.
Process Efficiency Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements within the financial reporting process to enhance efficiency.
Accounting Policy Development : Evaluate, develop, propose, and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP principles and adapt to evolving business activities.
Technical Accounting Expertise : Act as a subject matter expert on technical accounting issues, working with the business and finance teams to identify, research, resolve, and document complex transactions.
Consultation Resource : Serve as a resource for technical accounting matters and complex business transactions across the organization, maintaining a repository for such matters.
Accounting Memos : Prepare accounting memos documenting the application of accounting principles to specific transactions.
Communication and Coordination : Coordinate and effectively communicate accounting issues with various business units throughout the company.
Financial Reporting : Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial reports and committee presentations.
Internal Controls : Perform key controls related to the financial reporting processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Audit Support : Assist and support in both internal and external audits of the company.
Qualifications :
Big 4 Experience and CPA : Prior experience working at a Big 4 accounting firm and holding a CPA designation.
Financial Reporting Experience : A minimum of 5 years of relevant financial reporting experience.
GAAP Knowledge : Strong familiarity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Deadline-Oriented : Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to Detail : High degree of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Cross-Functional Abilities : Ability to work across functions, perform multi-faceted analysis, and handle ad-hoc tasks.
Communication Skills : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and documentation.
Technical Tools : Preferable experience with Workiva Wdesk and familiarity with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
Leadership and Collaboration : Viewed as a business partner to the organization, requiring well-developed leadership, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
