Pay Range : $70,000 - $75,000 / yr.
The Director of Resident Care Specialist provides strategic leadership for resident care and medication program in the community as an interim nurse manager by managing, directing and monitoring subordinate nurses, the resident care team and resident medication aides, either directly or indirectly, as applicable by State law, to promote the health and wellness of the resident population.
Must desire to work with seniors and have a tolerance for behaviors associated with dementia and other aging processes.

This position will be extensive travel.
Leadership Directs and leads the resident care and medication programs.Assists the Business office manager in the completion of new hire paperwork, monitoring time sheets, and performing evaluations per company policy.
Leads orientation for newly hired nurse manager positions.Manage orientation and continued training for clinical staff.May assist with scheduling for all Medication and Resident Assistants.
Participate in clinical on-call schedule as required.On-call duties for staffing and clinical needs.
May need to assume the role of Care Assistant and / or Medication Assistant to ensure consistent quality care is provided.
Maintains high staff morale and fosters a supportive work environment.
Medication Program Provide training, supervision, and monitoring of Medication Assistant in the assistance of medications, to include frequent auditing of medication sheets, medication passes, shift change MAR audit and Narcotic counts.
Assure that all medications prescribed have orders, are available, and are transcribed correctly in the MAR / EMAR by auditing the medication records and chart frequent and ensure proper documentation for medication assistance administration.
Maintain ongoing communication with the resident, residents family, physician, and pharmacy regarding the residents medication needs, etc Memory Care Program (if applicable) Track, trend and report clinical quality data to identify risk.
Oversee incident report follow-up investigation and ensure completion of resident status documentation.Ensure that nursing is maintaining accurate resident charts and state required documentation and is prepared for state survey and health inspections at all times.
Wellness Program Provide training, supervision, and monitoring of Resident Assistants in following the resident service plan and completing task for the assigned services.
Initiate resident service plans according to the individualized needs of the resident as prescribed by physician and / or community policy.
Ensure all daily services are completed by the Resident Assistants and service plans are updated swiftly when changes are reported.
Manage the health care of all residents, including the dissemination of information to families, staff, physicians and third-party providers.
Perform on-site assessments of residents admitted to hospitals or skilled nursing facilities for treatment, and maintain contact with residents family and discharge planner with the view to returning to the community.
Complete pre-admission assessments for each resident and update every six months (or per policy depending on state) and as needed with change of condition.
Meet with each resident on a regular basis to provide health and wellness, check and answer any health-related questions.
Review the residents medical report prior to move-in to ensure that the community can provide for the residents individual needs and that regulatory requirements have been fulfilled.
Monitors the skin of residents.Assesses wounds and obtains physician orders for treatments and interventions working with home health providers.
Assures ancillary medical services such as podiatrist, doctor visits, dental visits, psych visits, ambulance, etc.
are scheduled and followed through.
Miscellaneous Will act as the interim for available clinical positions including but not limited to the Director of Resident Care, the Assistant Director of Resident Care, the LPN / LVN shift supervisor, or other clinical support positions throughout the RCM portfolio.
Communicate directly with other disciplines involved in resident care on a regular basis, including weekends.Complete all assigned duties that may change from time-to-time according to resident needs, staffing levels, and working circumstances.
Member of the communitys emergency response team.Ability to work a full-time schedule with some weekend work as needed and on-call.
Maintains a professional appearance and good personal hygiene per company policies.
Education / Training / Experience Minimum one-year management experience in senior living or related health programs with memory care experience preferred.
Graduate of an accredited LVN / LPN / RN program.
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a RN or LVN / LPN in Texas.
Must have current CPR certification.
Must maintain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the State Experience in geriatric nursing, emergency care, first-aid.
Valid Drivers License and clear driving record that meets the requirements of our insurance carrier.
