Senior Accountant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries in support of month-end closing activities, ensuring proper documentation is obtained.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, identifying reconciling items and communicating corrections and process improvements to management
• Lead Blackline reconciliation tool standardization and training across the company’s accounting divisions
• Assist with analysis of month-end results, including comparisons to forecasts and budgets as well as researching and documenting variances
• Respond to inquiries from various departments regarding financial statements and general ledgers.
• Manage the intercompany process across the organization, working to identify issues and helping drive and adhere to monthly close calendar
• Assist with ad hoc projects and analyses as requested.
• Ability to effectively partner with teams throughout the organization, both in and outside of the accounting and finance group
• Assist with interim and annual audits

Skills and Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in general accounting
• 3+ years experience in manufacturing preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to understand the root cause of issues
• Competency with Microsoft Office and Advanced Excel functions
• Experience with ERP accounting systems, Microsoft Dynamics (D365) a plus
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Prior experience with consolidations and intercompany a plus
