What does a great Enterprise Technology Portfolio Manager do?

As the Software Development Manager for Enterprise Corporate Systems (ECS) - Shared Service (SharePoint / Project Portfolio Management -PPM) Portfolio, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of the services for Microsoft SharePoint / Microsoft Project Server (Project Portfolio Management) solutions, plus drive the service Lifecycle to ensure new solutions are industrialised to meet Business needs.

The primary stakeholders are within the Finance, Communications and Legal Divisions; however, the department maintains close contacts throughout the organisation due to interdependencies.

For delivery and support of our operations, we have a key Managed Service Provider, however, utilize a variety of other Services from Providers, including our own Technology Services.

Travelport is poised to transform its current SharePoint solution to the latest technology through migration and consolidation.

The project will utilise the agile methodology and is expected to move at an accelerated pace. A core team will work on the project and a target post BAU Managed Services partner has been identified to provide Delivery and Support Services.

You will guide the culture adoption toward best practices, compliance, thought leadership, rationalization, availability, and innovation.

  • Support Travelport growth plans and strategic initiatives by ensuring alignment between the business, technology, and Portfolio strategies.
  • Work in partnership between Portfolio management and the business partner organization to secure alignment for both short-term tactical business partner Portfolio deliverables and long-term Portfolio investment against a vision.
  • Work to improve and evolve a consistent approach and execution of standard Portfolio delivery processes (e.g., ROI management, budgeting, prioritization, lifecycle management, Agile processes) across the team driving and managing key governance processes.
  • Work with the delivery team(s) to ensure adherence to an agreed process and update and communicate to the wider organisation through the agreed upon status cadence and status messaging.

Responsibilities Include :

  • Leads team of direct / indirect reports and supports planning of resources to achieve the LoB / functional area priority deliverables.
  • Responsible for managing and provisioning required delivery Services, including resources, and partnering with the business and technology teams to execute and deliver work aligned to agreed Business priorities.
  • Support Continual Improvement by maintaining an active interest and staying abreast of industry and technology trends, and proactively propose potential opportunities to Stakeholders.
  • Service Design
  • As a SME, play a key role in the design of Services and working with our Internal teams and Supplier Relationship Management team to select Suppliers.
  • Ensure a Service Catalogue is maintained, and holistic Service Level Agreements are defined and agreed with Stakeholders for existing and new Services.
  • Conduct regular reviews and surveys of Services with internal and external Suppliers to ensure Service Levels and Availability meet Business Requirements.
  • Ensure Services are designed and developed to deliver agreed Service requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Service Transition requirements are defined within deliveries.
  • Service Transition
  • Ensures CICD & DevOps processes and tools are maintained and utilised correctly.
  • Ensure an Environment / Tenant Management strategy and plan is maintained and regularly reviewed to support delivery.
  • Ensure teams use and maintain appropriate processes and tools to manage Releases and Deployments.
  • Ensure all Services undergo testing and validation as part of transition.
  • Service Operations
  • Ensure Travelport's Incident Management processes and tools are utilised.
  • Ensure appropriate processes are defined and put in place to monitor and report on incidents.
  • Ensure the design, implementation, monitoring and analysis of appropriate Event Management solutions.
  • Ensure compliance to Travelport's Problem Management by following processes and utilising tools.
  • Engages and contributes to leadership discussions to gain understanding of long-term technology impacts.
  • Leads and manages performance of direct / indirect reports to create high performing teams.
  • Drives and ensure all Platforms, Services and Applications are compliant to relevant legislative, regulatory, industry and internal policies and standards.

Who we are looking for in this role :

  • Leads & manages direct / indirect reports, develops & mentors team and others.
  • Ability to lead and manage SharePoint & Project Portfolio Management PPM Operations Service Strategy.
  • Good understanding of SharePoint / Project Server technical delivery and change processes.
  • Good overall knowledge of SharePoint / PPM modules.
  • Understanding of and experience in managing third party Cloud Services.
  • Able to build a good knowledge of Travelport people, business operations and customers.
  • Good knowledge and exposure to Service Lifecycle Management.
  • Proven experience of successful Risks and Issues management.

What experience would be ideal for this role?

  • Must have experience with managing individuals and teams in a global matrixed business environment.
  • Must have worked in at least one SharePoint and Project Server implementation on-prem.
  • Must have experience of managing internal and third-party Service providers.
  • Must have experience of supporting Audits, such as Sarbanes Oxley, SOC, GPDR and other compliance needs.
  • Familiar with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, and MS Office tools.

Salary Target / Range : $125,000 - $145,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors.
