Summary
Assists Inpatient Access team with clerical tasks and paperwork requirements. Maintain preregistration workflows and communications.
Assist with coordination between inpatient clinical team and inpatient access team and ensures timely delivery of information for safe transfer of patient health information and details.
Supports with departmental projects and quality assurance as requested.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Maintains departmental records and filing systems on a timely basis. Maintains and orders office supplies and certain departmental supplies and equipment as requested.
- Answers departmental phone lines, takes messages, transfers calls or pages as appropriate. Makes business phone calls as necessary.
Schedules appointments for department staff.
- Maintains Policies and Procedures Manual and updates as necessary.
- Completes departmental copying and distribution.
- Access, navigate and interpret multiple reporting platforms including internal website, electronic medical records, and data analytics and reporting.
- Efficiently manages intake operations including pre-registration, uploading records into EMR, and collaborates with other support teams to ensure patient information is accurate.
- Compiles marketing materials for distribution to patients and referral sources.
- Database record maintenance in eRehab and Epic for accuracy in data collection.
- Sorts, opens, collects and distributes departmental mail.

Essential Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Excellent telephone and customer service skills
- Excellent problem solving / critical thinking skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Preferred Job Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- Knowledge of physical rehabilitation
- Minimum of 1 year previous health care experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of insurance authorization / reimbursement guidelines for rehabilitation
