Salary : $21-$26 an hour
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Machine Operator to join our woman-owned leading manufacturer of corrugated packaging, displays, and packaging.
Our client is seeking a self-motivated Machine Operator to further develop their corrugated business in Massachusetts.
The Machine Operator is responsible for a machine's operation that performs one or more manufacturing functions such as folding, feeding, labeling, banding, tying, packing, or stacking by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : (Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation)
Includes the following, other duties may be assigned :
- Maintains safety awareness for oneself and co-workers during all work activities. Alerts supervisor of safety hazards if one is discovered.
- Monitors and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine. Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
- Makes minor adjustments to set-up machine for different jobs.
- Completes paperwork associated with the production which includes production counts, quality checks, waste reporting, machine run times, down times, productivity and safety.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Coordinates the production flow activities of the machine and crew of 1 to 3 employees.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write and read outline reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY :
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
