About the Role :

As the Senior Accountant at Dr. Squatch, you will be instrumental in developing a robust account reconciliation process.

This will be a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting a successful year-end audit. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • This is a full-time (hybrid / onsite / remote) role hybrid role with company benefits based out of Marina Del Rey, CA.
  • The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $90,000 to $120,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do :

  • Handle reconciliation of high-volume and high-value accounts such as, accrued sales tax, bank clearing accounts, accrued inventory purchases, prepaids.
  • Reconcile daily cash flow reporting and monthly bank statements. File and follow up on chargebacks and outstanding uncashed checks.
  • Develop, document, and implement improved reconciliation procedures and policies to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the reconciliation process.
  • Ensure all reconciliations comply with internal controls and external audit requirements, providing necessary documentation and explanations during audit
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, amortizations, and reclassifications, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare data and documents for sales tax and VAT filings and ensuring timely reconciliations of related accounts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Operations and Sales Teams to provide data support and ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment of business objectives
  • Supports special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed.

About You :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • CPA or some public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with ERP accounting software (experience with NetSuite a plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, complex formulas, processing large amounts of data)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interest in health and wellness, personal care, and / or eCommerce industries
  • Experience working in the consumer products industry is highly preferred
  • Someone who gets things done without perfect resources is innovative and works with a sense of urgency.
  • Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor.
