POSITIONFEATURES :
Position Requiresa nursing licensure and dialysis nursingexperience.
Position will oversee 7 totalinpatient service programs within local hospitals in Chicago andElmhurst, IL.
PURPOSE ANDSCOPE :
Ensure theprovision of quality patient care to all hospitalized patients inthe most efficient manner in accordance with company policy.
Provides direct supervision and coordination of inpatient staff.Responsible for low volume monthly treatments. Utilizes the FMCmission, core values and customer service philosophy to ensurequality service while maintaining a high level of efficiencymanagement .
PRINCIPAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES :
Manage the tacticalexecution of short- and long-term objectives through thecoordination of activities with a direct responsibility forresults, including costs, methods, and staffing.
Monitorcosts / spending in all areas including medical supply inventory,personnel and accounts payable. Determine innovative ways to reducecosts and maintain quality.
- Ensures properstaffing and operations at all contracted facilities. Ensureefficient staff / patient scheduling and efficient staffingutilization following company policy while maintaining a safeenvironment.
- Provide leadership, coaching anddevelopment plans for all direct reports to maintain an engaged andproductive workforce;
partnering with Human Resources on employeematters.
- Acts as an advisor to subordinate(s)to meet schedules and / or resolve technical problems. Responsiblefor hiring, coaching and counseling employees, includingperformance reviews, development, disciplinary action andterminations.
- Technically proficient in thespecific department and knowledge of industry practice and businessprinciples. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis ofsituation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors,including an understanding of current business trends.
Reviewsprofit and loss statements for greater understanding of specificdepartment performance.
- Responsible for AcuteCare Electronic System (ACES) include the following :
- Takes initiative and action to respond,resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with allcustomers in a timely manner.
- Collaboratewith contracted facility representatives to maintain a state ofsurvey readiness for internal and external agency surveys.
Workwith contracted facility (ies) to resolve specific departmentissues as suggested / directed as a result of a survey.
Maintains and prepares QAI data andpresentations. Participates and presents at meetings with internaland external representatives, often leading a collaborative effortamong members of a project team.
Assures provision of facilityspecific QAI information as appropriate.
- Interacts with internal departments and external customers;particularly in problem resolution and acting as the industryexpert on behalf of the customer.
- Ensurescompliance with hospital regulations and participates in surveysconducted by TJC, CMS, OSHA and other agencies.
- Ensure a proper orientation and trainingprogram for all clinical and technical staff. Ensure thatcontinuing in-services are provided to all clinical and technicalstaff.
Maintain documentation of all training.
- Conduct and document acute staff meetings ona regular basis.
- Ensures provision ofdialysis and related services such as hemoperfusion, apheresis,continuous renal replacement therapies, peritoneal dialysis, and UFcomplete if contracted to do so.
- Ensures thattreatment information is documented appropriately by staffperforming treatments and oversees billing for services performedis timely and accurate.
- If appropriatelylicensed, performs treatments as necessary to assist in times ofhigh census, staffing shortages, and / or to assist with managingstaffing costs as appropriate.
- Conferroutinely with Technical Program Manager and Technical OperationsManager to ensure preventative maintenance program for routinemachine maintenance, to ensure the timely repair of disabledmachines, to coordinate infection control measures, routineculturing, water testing, logging of results, transportation ofequipment and supplies and communicate technical information to thestaff.
- Ensure all acute treatments areperformed in contracted hospitals according to the establishedpolicies and procedures and in compliance with all applicableregulatory requirements.
- Ensure efficientutilization of supplies and equipment.
- Assistwith various projects as assigned.
- Otherduties as assigned.

- Availability for night and weekend calls / troubleshooting may benecessary to oversee issues as they arise with management of a24 / 7 / 365 service.
- Day to day work includesdesk and personal computer work and interaction with patients,facility staff and physicians.
- The positionrequires travel between assigned facilities and various locationswithin the community. Travel to regional, Business Unit andCorporate meetings may be required.
- The workenvironment is characteristic of a health care facility with airtemperature control and moderate noise levels.
Could possibly beexposed to infectious and contagious diseases / materials.
SUPERVISION :
May be responsible for the direct supervisionof various levels of inpatient staff as designated by region.
EDUCATION :
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing(RN); Advanced degree desirable
- Current statelicensure as applicable
EXPERIENCEAND REQUIRED SKILLS :
- 3-5 years'related experience.
- 3+ years' supervisory orproject / program management experience preferred.
