We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic VP, Real Estate to join our dynamic team.

The VP of Real Estate at Build-A-Bear is responsible for implementing the corporate real estate, partner and wholesale business strategy;

and negotiating lease terms for new and existing corporately operated retail locations. This role will drive growth, optimize resources, mitigate risks, and enhance our competitiveness, making a significant impact on our retail expansion and performance.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop, implement, and execute the Real Estate Market Strategy
  • Manage and supervise the Partner Operated and Wholesale team
  • Provide strategies for growth by acquiring new clients and grow existing business partners
  • Oversee the team engaging with wholesale clients to ensure highest level of service and support both internally and externally
  • Ensure team is aware of goals and working to accomplish these tasks in timely manner
  • Stay alert of possible challenges and take proactive approach
  • Be a source of expertise and knowledge to the team and other internal depts
  • Work on development of the team and show opportunities for growth as well as business opportunities to contribute to the company's success
  • Negotiate real estate terms and explore alternative platforms for brand exposure
  • Communicate actions with cross-functional teams and Senior Leadership
  • Engage with legal team to ensure business terms are accurate and timely lease document turnaround
  • Conduct market analysis and research for optimal retail locations
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize real estate expenses
  • Lucernex data oversight
  • Proactively mitigate legal, regulatory, and financial risks

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years retail leasing leadership experience
  • Proficient industry knowledge
  • Expert negotiator

P referred Qualifications :

  • Experience in both Landlord and Retail real estate sectors
  • ICSC Real Estate Certification (CLS) and Real Estate License
