AWS Fraud Prevention is looking for an innovator and problem solver to protect AWS from sophisticated cyber crime actors, and crypto miners.
Here at fraud prevention we build high scalable and high performant systems to detect fraudulent actors and shut them down.
We are heavily dependent on large amount to data gathering, processing and machine learning on daily basis to prevent and detect fraudulent actors and account compromise.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will be part of a two-pizza team in an org of 40+ engineers. As a software development engineer, you will :
- Help establish technical direction, foster team culture, grow junior engineers and deliver exciting features to internal and external customers.
- Take end to end ownership of the software development life cycle. This includes design, testing and deployment
- Be very hands-on; work with the engineering team to manage the day-to-day development activities by leading architecture decisions, participating in designs, design review, code review, and implementation
- Champion operational, technical and process improvements
- Work with your manager and other engineers in delivering to the roadmap.
A day in the life
You will have the opportunity to design and implement systems that delight our customers. You will also learn how things are built and deployed in AWS, brush up on operational excellence, and apply it on the job! You work closely with data scientists, principal and senior SDEs to design and build products that our in accordance with our vision.
About the team
AWS Fraud Prevention consists of more than 80+ people from various job families like scientists, engineers, investigators, product and program managers.
Our charter is to save OpEx for AWS by preventing and detecting fraudulent actors and account compromise without disrupting experience for legit customers.
Customer obsession is the core principle of this team. We are a data heavy team and use the latest machine learning techniques in our data to day operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
