Mental Health Therapist II, SHINE (Bilingual Required)
Position Summary
Lifeline Services is hiring a SHINE Mental Health Therapist to support our growing team. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive Functional Family Therapy (FFT) counseling and educational services to at-risk youth and their families.
Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is an evidence-based intervention for youth and families. This high quality, strength-focused family counseling model is designed primarily for at-risk youth who have been referred by the juvenile justice, mental health, school, or child welfare systems with the overall goal of increasing self-sufficiency, fostering resilience, and building connections to community resources.
This is a Master's Level, BBS registered or BBS eligible role that will help our team provide trauma-informed and strength-based services to at risk youth and their families.
We're looking for a dynamic and passionate Therapist who is client centered, community focused and is able to make sound clinical decisions independently since your day-to-day work will be in clients home, in the community, Lifeline offices and any other location that is convenient for the client and their families.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual required.
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field required.
- Masters-level training in child abuse and all other protective issues preferred.
- Must be registered with BBS, must possess license
- Must have training / background in conducting clinical assessments and in substance abuse treatment with youth.
- Off-site counseling requires own transportation. Willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment (mileage reimburse).
- Successful completion of multi-state criminal background check, TB, and Drug Test.
- Fulfill all requirements to become certified in evidence based model Functional Family Therapy (FFT) in the time allotted.
Agency pays for all FFT trainings.
Responsibilities
- Address oppositional behaviors, conduct disorders, and other delinquency issues including substance abuse and violent behaviors utilizing Family Functional Therapy.
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization.
- Work collaboratively with Case Manager to create a motivational environment in the family in which change can occur.
- Case conference in coordination with other mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and others involved in the youths / family's treatment team.
- Provide therapy sessions with fidelity to the FFT model by identifying dysfunctional relational patterns and creating relevant interventions.
- Track client progress in CSS, FFT web-based system and in other program-specific tracking system as required by contract.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Schedule / Compensation
- FT- nonexempt position.
- Mon-Fri 8-5pm; however, a minimum of 2 evenings until 7 : 30pm, 1 evening until
- 6pm and minimum 3 days in the office or as needed per program / contract requirements (Nights and weekends as needed)
- Salary will commensurate with experience and education. Differential pay offered for bilingual skills. EEO.
Additional Requirement
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with a good driving record.
- Willing to use own, properly insured, reliable vehicle for the job (mileage reimbursed).
- Employment subject to clearances, including background finger printing checks, driving record, tuberculosis testing, and drug testing.
