The Role :
The Rug Company is seeking a Dallas based Sales Associate. This individual will work in our Dallas Showroom as a key member of our growing and dynamic Dallas sales team.
This individual will be a primary point of contact to The Rug Company customers and will need to have an excellent knowledge and appreciation for our products and custom capabilities.
This person will need to have a friendly outgoing personality and desire to cultivate long-term relationships with our clients.
Additionally, this individual needs to be a highly motivated self-starter possessing superb communication skills (both verbal and written) as well as strong organizational skills and the ability to anticipate and troubleshoot client needs.
The candidate should possess a solid track record within the high-end luxury furnishings industry with both architects and interior designers.
Responsibilities :
- Prospect, develop and manage a client base to deliver sales that meet or exceed your established budgets
- Identify and establish relationships with major commercial and residential design firms
- Minimum of 10 sales appointments per week. Be available to attend any client meetings as needed.
- Meet pre-determined sales revenue for territory
- Become the go-to rug expert in territory through training / consultative sales.
- Responsible for generating all quotes and following up with clients.
- Attend a minimum of 2 events per month in assigned territory
- Weekly communication of pipeline and sales calls with Showroom Sales Director.
- Overall knowledge of the entire TRC pipeline and customers required. Able to step in when other TRC sales team members are unavailable and help with quoting, customer service, etc.
- Manage Travel & Entertainment budget.
- Regular communication with appropriate TRC team members on industry trends, competition and other suggested improvements leading to attaining sales goals and growing channels.
- Be fully functional on SAP and keep informed of all rug projects.
- Work with sales team in sharing any leads or contacts in other territories.
- Attend TRC-sponsored events
- Remain flexible with account and territory assignments.
- Quickly gain a strong knowledge of The Rug Company products, designers and custom capabilities
- Greet and assist clients in the Showroom
- Answer incoming calls
- Qualify and assist new leads via phone, email and walk-in clients
- Drive new client relationships and nurture existing relationships with consistent communication, follow-up, face-time and / or presentations
- Create Sales Quotes and Invoices
- Accountable for individual sales goals as defined by management
- Manage relationships within a defined set of assigned and / or territory
- Manage all aspects of the sales cycle and order process including tracking the order through production, coordinating delivery as well as managing any issues during or after installation
- Provide accurate and timely reports to management, including call reports, forecasting, etc.
- Book and maintain a calendar of sales meetings providing designers and clients with information on complete product offering
- Assist with the maintenance of showroom aesthetics, organization and overall standards
- Assist in preparation for and during showroom events
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies :
- Ability to work full time in our Dallas, Texas Showroom. This is not a remote position.
- 3-5 years’ experience in sales preferability in luxury goods
- Ability to think creatively in order to sell solutions and win sale
- Management and development of a solid book of business and / or territory
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Google Suite, previous experience on SAP would be desirable although training will be given
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Proficient with MS Office; experience with SAP a plus.
- Have a reliable car (mileage will be reimbursed)
Physical Requirements :
- Periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Periods of time sitting in a car and driving.
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs. at times.
- Ability to drive and hold a valid driver’s license required.
