CMA : * Experience in a medical office setting.* Must understand, courteous and professional at all times in contacts with patients, visitors, employees, and medical staff.
- Assist Doctor with patients.* Demonstrate knowledge in a medical office.* Anticipate doctor's needs for each patient based upon patient complaints and treatment plan / guidelines.
- Verify that patient results, x-rays, labs and procedure reports are in patient charts prior to seeing doctor.* Gather patient's vitals and complaints, document in patient medical record.
- Chart accurately and legibly to include lab results.* Facilitate physician and patient communications.* Complete lab requisition forms and assure that specimens are sent to correct labs per patient insurance contract.
- Maintain and monitor exam room and procedure room supplies and instruments.* Clean and sterilize instruments in accordance to OSHA Regulations.
Clean autoclave as required.* Complete clinical portions of chart preparation.* Schedule surgery and give patient appropriate instructions prior to surgery and refer to Front Office Coordinator or Office Manager for insurance authorization.
- Provide backup surgery scheduling.LPN : * Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients age.
- Demonstrates ability under direct supervision of an RN, to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
This includes pediatric, geriatric and general patient population.* Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.* Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and patient's clinical condition.
- Follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.* Demonstrates ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
- Formulates a teaching plan based on identified patient learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.
- Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of an RN.
- Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious / spiritual needs of patients and their families* Interacts professionally with patient / family and involves patient / family in the formation of the plan of care.
- RN : * Promotes positive public relations for the department and the hospital by presenting self in a professional manner;
assisting in community service programs, as requested.* Ability to problem solve patient / family issues to a positive conclusion for all involved.
- Demonstrates communication skills necessary to interact with persons of varying age and / or cultures. Displays a positive attitude at all times.
