Summary
The Advanced Radiology Technologist administers ionizing radiation. Operates x-ray equipment and takes diagnostic radiographs.
Provides patient services utilizing diagnostic imaging modalities. Practices sterile technique when required. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of radiographic techniques, radiation protection, anatomy, positioning, medical terminology and radiographic physics.
Qualifications
Minimum Education :
- High School Graduate
- Formal Accredited Radiology Technology Program
Required Licenses / Certifications :
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic technologist (ARRT) (RT)
- An Additional Registration by the American Registry in (CT) or (M) or (NM) or (MR)
- Texas Medical Board in Medical Radiologic Technology (MRT)
- CPR / BLS required (AHA)

Produces high quality images in a safe and efficient manner. Completes required exams; sends studies to reading station for radiologist review, completes all associated documentation.
Education :
Required : Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program, CT / MRI registry eligible
Experience :
Required : 2 years clinical experience in more than one modality. ARRT CT / MRI registry eligible required
Preferred : ARRT CT or MRI
Certifications :
Required : ARRT (R) and documentation of CT or MRI experience, must obtain advance credential in CT or MRI within one year of hire.
AHA BLS; state license if required
