The CNC Milling Manager is responsible for supervising machining operations, optimizing production workflows, managing personnel, ensuring quality control, and maintaining machine performance. This role bridges technical expertise and leadership.
Supervise CNC operators, machinists, and setup personnel.
Schedule shifts and assign work based on priorities.Train and mentor staff on machining best practices and safety.Production OversightMonitor production to ensure parts are made to specification and deadlines.
Coordinate with engineering, planning, and quality departments.Process OptimizationImprove milling strategies, reduce cycle times, and maximize tool life.
Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste and downtime.Machine Maintenance & TroubleshootingEnsure CNC milling machines are properly maintained.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.Quality ControlReview first-article inspections and in-process checks.
Work closely with the QA team to ensure ISO or AS9100 compliance if applicable.Tooling and Materials ManagementOversee tooling setup, procurement, and inventory.
Ensure correct materials are used and documented properly.Requirements :
Technical Expertise in CNC programming (e.g., Mazatrol), CAM software (like Mastercam, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX).Leadership Skills with experience in team supervision.Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.Experience with quality standards and continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Kaizen).Familiarity with ERP / MRP systems for production planning.Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.5–10 years in CNC machining, with at least 2–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
