As a Merchandising Manager at NYC Alliance Company LLC, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our retail business.

You will be responsible for developing and executing merchandise buying and planning strategies that align with our company's goals and objectives.

This includes analyzing customer demand, forecasting sales, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and sales data to make informed merchandising decisions and identify growth opportunities.
  • Formulate plans that cater to target demographics, leveraging product attributes to optimize and inform future product development and strategic in-season chase.
  • Collaborate with wholesale and product development teams to craft an assortment strategy aligned with the target consumer.
  • Create localized product strategies at the category and style level to drive four-wall profitability.
  • Develop pricing and promotional strategies, aggressively pursuing growth and optimizing sales and profitability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with the allocation team to ensure optimal product distribution.
  • Prepare and present reports and analysis to stakeholders.
  • Identify assortment gaps and opportunities to ensure a comprehensive and compelling product offering.
  • Track competitors' activities to pinpoint potential threats and opportunities.
  • Utilize consumer behavior insights and historical sales to improve flow of merchandise, right-size inventory and improve quarterly turn.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, retail, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in buying and planning, preferably in the retail industry
  • Expertise in women's apparel, special sizes, and diverse markets preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other analytics tools
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Agile and capable of navigating change and acting decisively and swiftly.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, capable of building new processes and rapidly responding to market changes and customer value shifts.
  • Results-driven, able to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
