Job Description
A part-time temporary Project Manager / Lab Assistant is needed to support the preparation, execution, and maintenance of ongoing NIH-funded research studies in the area of health psychology and behavioral medicine.
Preparation involves written materials, literature review, supplies, scheduling of participants, online surveys, and study reports / products.
Execution includes interacting with project investigators, research staff, and study participants, as well as administering structured protocols.
Maintenance involves tracking study status and completing follow up assessments. Qualifications
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of or direct experience with research papers and / or research study protocols (e.g., screening inclusion / exclusion criteria, informed consent, and confidentiality).
- Working knowledge of commonly used computer programs and willingness to learn others as needed.
- Experience or interest in working with research data / analysis.
Job Specific Qualifications
- Undergraduate (e.g., BA or BS) or graduate (e.g., MS) degree preferred.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Manage research studies and prepare study materials (e.g., computer preparation, printing, copying, etc.).
- Prepare IRB applications and related materials following IRB approval.
- Administer psychological and health questionnaires. Score tests and questionnaires and results in computer database.
- Schedule participants for testing sessions. Track, follow-up and reschedule missed participant appointments.
- Assist in recruiting study participants. Interact with study participants, provide information, and answer questions (both in person and over telephone / email).
- Prepare and file testing materials and assemble testing packets; file participant data folders. Prepare equipment for participants use and download participant data.
Provide study materials to participants during writing task and monitor their progress.
- Prepare research progress and final reports, related grant applications, and professional presentations and publications.
- Other duties as assigned.
