Lead Product Development Engineer (York, PA)

Our client, an innovating thermal solutions team, nominated as a "Best Place to Work" in PA in 2023, and, in 2021, 2022 and 2023, ranked as the fastest growing company in PA- is currently hiring a Lead Product Development Engineer.

2-3 Direct reports to start, Lead or Management experience, or Project Management experience, is required.

Role will lead a small group of engineers and technicians in designing and prototyping thermal management solutions to meet specific customer specifications.

The Lead Engineer is responsible for all aspects of a project throughout its life cycle, including concept generation, sales support, project management, customer interaction, and budget control.

At any given time, Lead is also responsible for the success of multiple projects. Quite frequently, this role is also responsible for working with the manufacturing department to transition the product design into production.

Performance metrics include :

Revenue and Profit on product development projects.

On Time and High-Quality Delivery, and Customer Satisfaction.

Leadership and Personnel Development.

Minimum requirements include :

US. citizenship or permanent residency.

B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

Minimum of 5-8 years of engineering experience in a technically oriented company.

Project management experience. PMP certification preferred.

Lead or Management experience preferred.

Experience managing military contacts and specifications.

Proficiency in using commercial CAD, FEA and CFD software

Hands-on experience with mechanical fabrication, measurement, and computerized data acquisition.

Good verbal and written skills.

Any effective leader must also be an excellent team member. As a member of the product development team, the ideal candidate must have the ability to give and receive encouragement and constructive criticism, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with team members to achieve common goals.

They must effectively balance the personalities and opinions of various team members to maximize each member's effectiveness and direct the team toward meeting the customer's goals and expectations

Critical thinking skills :

The product development customer and projects vary widely, and the strategies and design approaches that worked for one program may be completely different for the next opportunity.

Because of that, we need a curious individual who loves to dive in, experiment, and develop innovative solutions to new challenges.

Desire to grow :

The ideal candidate wants to be the best at their job and is never content with "good enough". They set loy goals and constantly seek to improve themselves and expand their professional knowledge and skillset.

They desire to sharpen their engineering and project management skills and grow in leadership ability and responsibility.

Technical knowledge :

We are looking for a candidate who has a strong academic engineering background, coupled with hands-on skills and fabrication and testing capabilities.

Leadership ability :
