Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

VocoVision is partnering with school districts across Maryland to connect students with certified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) . This is a unique opportunity to provide essential support services entirely from the comfort of your home. As a remote TVI, you will play a key role in helping students with visual impairments gain access to educational content, develop independence, and thrive in their academic environments.

Job Responsibilities :

Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments in both individual and group virtual settings

Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teams, and families to adapt curriculum and materials

Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Offer consultative support to school staff on best practices and accommodations for visually impaired students

Maintain timely documentation and progress monitoring aligned with district and state requirements

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelors degree in Education with a specialization or endorsement in Visual Impairments

Active TVI certification and valid Special Education license in Kansas.

(must include TVI endorsement)

Comfortable using technology and delivering services virtually

Must pass a tech screening (basic diagnostic to confirm compatibility with teletherapy platforms)

Ability to obtain or provide professional liability insurance

Prior experience with remote instruction or working in teletherapy platforms is a plus
