Description

Summary / Objectives :

Responsible for acquiring, servicing and growing relationships with small businesses that typically have annual gross sales up to $1Million.

Work proactively with new businesses, structuring and closing of commercial loans, as well as related depository relationships, maintaining and serving a commercial loan portfolio.

Accountable for the identification of risk inherent in loan transactions, loan portfolio and communication of that knowledge.

Examine, evaluate and authorize, or recommend approval of, customer applications for lines of credit, commercial loans and commercial real estate loans.

Ensure compliance with all consumer regulations related to the job function. Adhere to regulatory changes, compliance issues and bank policy and procedure.

Essential Functions

  • Interview applicants to determine loan requirements and gather pertinent information for application.
  • Develop new commercial loan and deposit relationships through ongoing networking including client meetings, attending community events, and calling on centers of influence.
  • Prepare financing proposals for client review, consistent with the Bank's credit risk tolerance
  • Assist in the origination of new deposit accounts and treasury management services
  • Assist the branch team in support of stated departmental goals and to help meet customer's broader financial goals.
  • Work with manager and lending team to evaluate credit requests and recommend appropriate loan structure to manage risk
  • Work with the Business Services Team to best utilize digital capabilities
  • Establish, negotiate and approve loans within specified limits or refer them to loan committee for approval while maximizing profitability and minimizing risk
  • Achieve sales goals as detailed in annual review
  • Responsible for a portfolio of existing commercial loan and deposit customers
  • Implement, execute and monitor business services sales plan as assigned
  • Ensures timely loan closing and loan funding

Secondary Functions

  • Maintain knowledge of local, regional and national economic conditions, financing trends, lending regulations, loan documentation, delinquency trends, and loan procedures.
  • Work closely with manager, team and bank counsel to expeditiously resolve complex issues regarding loan proposals, commitment letters, and points of law, loan documentation, and loan closings.
  • Perform such other duties, as may be assigned or required for efficient operation and business promotion of the bank.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four year college or university, and 2-5 years related experience and / or training;

or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodical, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, policy and procedures, as necessary.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, percentages and how to apply them to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Participate in community organizations and build relationships with centers of influence
  • Driver's License

Preferred Education, Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four year college or university, and 5-10 years related experience and / or training;

or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in lending and / or small business banking

Strong community relationships and involvement.
